What is SnapMyEats?

SnapMyEats is an app that asks you three questions and a picture of a receipt, in exchange for points towards Amazon vouchers.

Is there a catch?

There is absolutely no catch, I got paid myself last month after trying it out for the first time ever!

Furthermore, they keep you updated on your progress before you upload a receipt, to show that they keep track and aren’t “scamming” you out of any. Invalid receipts mean anything that’s out of date.

How much can you earn?

Now unlike with Prolific surveys and other side hustles where you can earn an unlimited sum, on SnapMyEats, you can only earn up to £5 Amazon voucher a month, which makes £60 a year. It may not seem like a lot, but it’s sure to help out when it comes to birthday or Christmas gifts!

It works in the following way; for every 3 receipts you upload, you get £1.

  • 3 receipts = £1
  • 6 receipts = £2
  • 9 receipts = £3
  • 12 receipts = £4
  • 15 receipts = £5

Here’s a screenshot of the two emails I’ve personally received. They send one at the end of the month after verifying everything is correct (ie. make sure you sign up with a real email)!

Can I upload any receipt?

They are not picky concerning receipts, but there are some rules you need to stick by.

  • The receipts must be food/beverage related and purchased within the last week (they do check the date on the receipt).
  • This can include food/drinks on the go; fast food or restaurant meals; or purchased food/drink from a cafe or supermarket
  • Any receipt counts as long as there’s at least one consumable item on there. E.g. if I went to Primark and bought loads of clothes, and one tub of Mentos or a bottle of water, this could still count.

How do I receive my vouchers?

As you can see from the screenshots I took above, you get sent the vouchers to the email you sign up with. This is the only communication you receive from them.

Then, it’s up to you to add the amount to your gift card balance on your Amazon account.

That’s it, a super easy and quick way to make money. Please let me know your thoughts!
