Sometimes we just accept that some things are unavoidable expenses that we can’t save on, especially household bills. You’ll be pleased to know, however, that I’ve found an app that can actually take the stress out of household bill management! So, without further ado, here’s how to stop wasting money on household bills.
The Frugal Frenchie
I have collaborated with BillButler today, to tell you a bit about their app and how you can use it to save you money on future household bills.
BillButler is a service that wants to help you feel less overwhelmed by your bills, as well as making it easier for you to monitor your spending and payment methods. On your dashboard screen, you can view and track all your outgoings (including broadband, TV, phone, water, electricity etc.) so you don’t miss any and to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
What does it do for you?
BillButler aides you in several ways:
- It notifies you when regular bill payments are due
- Alerts you when your contract is coming to an end
- Searches better deals for you and will automatically alert you when they find a cheaper deal than your current providers,
- In doing so, they give you the ability to switch provider if necessary, all within the app- super quick and easy
How can it save you money?
The UK energy regulator, Ofgem, have found that millions of households across the country are losing up to £300 every year by not comparing and switching energy suppliers. If you bare in mind the number of bills we have to think about, this could amount to £1,000 per household or more! If you’ve never looked into cheaper deals or switching your energy supplier, BillButler can now help you do this automatically, we have no excuses now!
No nasty surprises
Another way BillButler helps you save money is by making sure there are no unexpected surprises or costs. You have all your bills in one place, no confusion with which are paperless, online or post etc. By having this feature, you can make sure you budget correctly for the monthly costs and don’t run the risk of getting behind. For any of you that have ever experienced companies removing your gas or electricity etc., you’ll understand what a lifesaver this is!
Split the bills
Not only does it allow you to pay bills, but it also allows you to split the bill with your friends or family. This is particularly useful if you’re a student or house-share and have to share the cost of bills with three or four other people. The principal bill payer can request the amount owed from the other parties and once they pay, can transfer the full amount to the utility provider!
How to get started
You can add your bills, so they’re all in one place, set yourself a “To Do” list if you know you’ve got payments coming up and set up automatic payments there and then! After this, there are loads of features on the bottom toolbar to have a look at, such as “My Wallet,” and “My Usage.”
This will all extremely useful information to help you stay in control and how to stop wasting money on household bills. Let me know if you found this helpful in the comments below!
