Owning and giving a moment

This year, I’ve found it particularly difficult to find an anniversary gift that can be meaningful but also something original that’s not DIY orientated (because I am seriously unartistic). I found that owning and giving a moment fits the criteria perfectly, so I thought I’d share it with you today!

Owning and giving a moment

Own a Moment provides a gift that is so unique, that nobody can ever own the same: the gift of time itself. They allow you to purchase your own moment in time which will be registered in Official Time Registry, isn’t that just amazing?

Own a Moment pride themselves in creating unique gifts, to the point that once you have purchased your moment in time, it will no longer be available to purchase so it’ll be yours forever! Try finding that somewhere else! It’s also a great gift that can be used for any occasion: a time of birth, a wedding, an anniversary, a special event… anything!

Personally, the most important time for me was the 25th April 2014. This was the day that my boyfriend and I started dating, and as of yesterday, marks our 4 years together! Unfortunately, I have no idea how to up my gift next year, but when I discovered Own a Moment on Instagram I couldn’t pass on the idea!

It arrived super quickly, way before I had the opportunity to give it to him (long distance problems), but it didn’t stop me sharing it with you on insta stories because I was just so happy with how it turned out! In this, I showed you the certificate you also receive from the Official Time Registry which explains that you own the moment as well as receiving a digit download that you can print off yourself.

As you can see, I also decided to get it framed, because the worst thing with gifts (thinking back to my last Christmas presents) is when they come unframed and you have to go through the hassle of finding one that fits your room etc. Luckily, Own a Moment can provide the frames for you, in a simple white frame, a silver metal frame, an antique oak frame or a dark walnut frame, lush!

The final two touches that I love, are of course that you can add your own message and name, but that you can also add a photo too. Martin, the mastermind behind these gifts, also sends you an email following your order, to check you are happy with your photo positioning/ size, which I think it so professional and thoughtful. I personally ended up changing my mind, so I am so thankful for his help!

My Christmas Stocking Fillers

I’m writing this blog post on my birthday as it’s when this time passes that I officially start feeling the Christmas spirit! For this reason, I’ve decided to give you a sneak peek into some of my Christmas stockings fillers this year, so have a nosy and enjoy!

  • Lip balms

I find these are such an easy “go-to” for stocking fillers. They’re small, handy and can be used anywhere at any time, especially during the winter months. These are my personal favourites this year:

I love all Jelly Belly lip balms so it seemed a great idea to grab this pack of 8 for my sister! I think Cherry Blue and Tangerine are such original flavours that I might have to borrow them from time to time aha!

My Christmas Stockings Fillers You can find these in Claire’s for £12.

I also spotted these two hilarious lip balms in the cosmetic section in Primark. It’s a “Christmas Pudding” lip balm and a “Christmas Dinner” themed lip balm. I thought these would make such festive little gifts and are bound to put a smile on the face of the receiver!

You can find these in Primark for £1.50 each.

  • CDs and DVDs

When you know somebody well, I think CDs and DVDs are such a great gift! Shows that you’ve thought of something that they’d love and it’s something that can be enjoyed over and over.

“NOW that’s what I call….” CDs have always been prominent in our lives. I personally love their “NOW that’s what I call music” but until I started researching, I had no idea that they also did “Classic Soul” and “Driving Rock.” These are definitely gifts that will appeal to my in-laws!

Both Classic Soul and Driving Rock retail at £7.98

In terms of films and DVDs, well 2017 has really spoilt us this year. From Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and Universal Picture’s “Despicable Me 3” to more mature and action filled films like “Spider-Man” and “Wonder Woman!” I’ve chosen Wonder Woman on blu-ray as a stocking filler as not only has my boyfriend not seen it but it’s the second best selling film of the year so has to be amazing, right?

My Christmas Stockings Fillers

Wonder Woman is available on bluray for £13.30.

  • Stationary

Ok, how could I not have put this here? Everybody loooves a good bit of stationary!

Stabilo are always rocking it with their stationary but when I saw these 6 highlighters I fell in love. They’re so dainty and have really cute quotes across them such as “tres chic” and “Be youtiful.” I just think they’re so adorable and people of all ages would appreciate this! Still debating who to give it to actually!

  • Books

I think you really can’t go wrong with books. I personally got a book today for my birthday and I’ve got two books for my mum’s present and my little brother’s.

Because my brother is quite a “deep” reader, I thought this would make for a light-hearted, cute little stocking filler for him to enjoy and look through in his own time. I love that books can be catered to different ages and personalities, there are so many talented authors out there!
